Francis Anderson

Francis "Andy" Anderson, 85, died at his home in Shapleigh on February 2, 2017.He was born on May 2, 1931 in New Bedford, MA and was adopted by Ollie and Hattie Anderson. Andy served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He and his wife Lorraine lived in Massachusetts and would come to Hollis on weekends where they built a home to live in full time. In later years they moved to Shapleigh. During his working life, Andy was a Sewer Treatment Manager for the Sanford Sewer Department, where he worked for many years and retired from there. He was a hard working man, who was set in his ways. He loved gardening and working on his lawn. He was also a talented woodworker. Andy's wife, Lorraine, whom he loved dearly, passed away in May of 2016. There will be a burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hollis the spring.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
