Flora Ricker

Flora E. Ricker, 85, of Biddeford, died on Monday, November 8th at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.Flora was born in Auburn on April 4, 1925 to Roy and Verna (Marr) Hawksley. In 1946 She married Robert Roy Ricker and together they raised five children. Flora worked several jobs in York County during her life. She was employed for 14 years at Fiber Materials in Biddeford until she retired in 1986.Flora had been a member of St. Stephen Martyr Episcopal Church in Waterboro. She was a member of the Olive Rebekah Lodge in Kennebunk where she held numerous offices including Past Noble Grand and Past District Deputy President. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed knitting, baking and bird watching. Family was always very important to her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was very fond of her dog Buddy. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Flora was predeceased by her husband, by her daughter, Robin Wedgeworth and by her brother, Roy Hawksley.Surviving are four children, Kelsey G. Ricker and his wife Virginia of West Kennebunk, Verna R. LaFleur and her husband Raymond of Cape Cod, MA, Barbara A. Irish and her husband Neil of Lyman and Robert J. Ricker and his wife Mary of Kennebunkport; a sister, Shirley Cooper of Needham, MA; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 11th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 12th at St. Stephen the Martyr Episcopal Church located at 424 Sokokis Trail in Waterboro.
