Eva M. Gallagher

Eva M. Gallagher, 91 years old, of Sanford, ME died Thursday morning, January 29, 2004 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. Gallagher was born on October 11, 1912 in Salem, MA. She was the daughter of Albert and Lea Martin Couture. For many years she owned and operated local hotels and restaurants, including the Port of Call Restaurant in Wiscasset. She spent a few years in Ft. Meade, FL, and returned to the Sanford area in 1994.Mrs. Gallagher was a communicant of St. Ignatius R.C. Church of Sanford, and loved to knit and crochet.Predeceasing her is her husband Keith Gallagher and a daughter Peggy Gallagher.Surviving is a daughter Judy Leahy of Dorchester, MA, four brothers, four sisters, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several cousins.A period of visitation will be held on Monday February 2, 2004 from 10 am to 11:30 am, at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME; followed by a 12:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Ignatius R.C.
