Eva Norton Berry

Eva Norton Berry, 93 years old of Limerick, died Saturday August 16, 2003 at the Ledgewood Manor in Windham.Mrs. Berry was born on January 11, 1910 in St. Fortunat, PQ, Canada. She was the daughter of Edward and Rose Croteau Garneau. At the age of 16 Mrs. Berry moved to the United States with her family.For many years Mrs. Berry worked at the Limerick Yarn Mill, G.E., Sylvania and Alfred Footwear. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors, and in 1951 was inducted into the Big Buck Club of Maine after tagging a 260 lb buck. She enjoyed horseracing, knitting, crocheting, and going to fairs.Mrs. Berry is a communicant of St. Matthew R.C. Church of Limerick, and holds the Boston post Cane as Limericks' eldest resident.Predeceasing her is her first husband William E. Norton, her second husband, Wilfred H. Berry, a daughter, Lorraine Wedgewood, and a sister Andrena Gagnon.Surviving is a son Boyce Norton of Limerick, two daughters, Lynette Allaire of Limerick, Joyce Provencher of Limerick, three sisters, Lucienne Oulette of Berwick, Laura Bisson of Kittery, Rachel Lemelin of Somersworth, NH, 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2003 from 3 to 7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME. On Wednesday please meet the family at St. Matthew R.C. Church for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Committal services will follow at Highland Annex Cemetery in Limerick. The family of Mrs. Berry would like to thank the staff of Ledgewood Manor, and Dr. Rovner for the exceptional care given to Mrs. Berry.
