Martineau, 79, of Springvale, died Wednesday May 29, 2002 at his residence.He was born in Sanford, Maine on October 26, 1922, he was the son of Samuel and Mary Lavalee Martineau and attended schools in Sanford.He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving overseas for 25 months in Alaska, the Aleutians and the Caribbean. Mr. Martineau retired from The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1984.He is survived by his wife of 57 years Arline Nichols Martineau of Springvale; a son Eugene A. Martineau and his wife Julie of Rochester, NH; a daughter A. Linda (Martineau) Lizotte and her husband Alfred of Sanford- Milton, NH; three sisters Anita Taylor, Norwich, CT., Elsie Lavoie of South Carolina and Delia Martineau of Sanford; six grandchildren Susan Lizotte- Johnson of Sanford, Scott Lizotte of Sanford, Stacy Lizotte of Sanford- Milton Mills, NH., Shannon Martineau of Jacksonville, FL., Bill Martineau of Shapleigh, ME., and Thomas Martineau of Rochester, NH; great grandchildren Kelsey Brooke Lizotte Johnson, Cruise Hayden Lizotte Johnson and Trevor Corey Lizotte.He was predeceased by sons, Eugene Wallace Martineau and William Brian Martineau, also predeceased by a great grandson Corey Ryann Lizotte.Relatives and friends may call from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday at Heald Funeral Home 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 66 North Ave., Sanford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale.
