Ernest A. Nutter

Ernest A. Nutter, 77, of Sanford, ME died Tuesday January 20, 2004 in New Smyrna Beach, FL.He was born January 22, 1926 in Kennebunk, ME. He was the only child of Gerald W. and Ida Mathews Nutter. He attended schools in Wells.Ernest served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, and a lifetime member of the Elks Club. He was a founding member of the Trailblazers Club of Wells, ME. Ernest loved boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and especially spending time with his family. He along with his wife owned and operated Nutter Refrigeration and Electrical of Sanford, ME for over 30 years.He spent the winters in Florida, and most recently was staying in New Smyrna Beach.He is survived by his wife Bernice Noble Nutter of Sanford; three daughters, Judith L. Ward of Yakima, WA, Sandra Bisson and her husband Marc of Sanford, ME, and Karen Nutter of Sanford, ME. Also surviving are four granddaughters, Jennifer Levesque of Sanford, ME, Heather Hodge of Sanford, ME, Lori-Ann Hensley of North Carolina, Amanda Ward of Yakima, WA; two grandsons, Heath Bisson of Alfred, ME, Isaac Ward of Yakima, WA, and seven beloved great-grandchildren.A period of visitation for Mr. Nutter will be held on Monday January 26, 2004 fro 6 pm to 8 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME; where funeral services will be held on Tuesday the 27th at 11:00 am.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.
