Ernest Bernier

Ernest Bernier, 92, of Sanford died on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Ernest was born in Sanford on March 17, 1918 to Fred and Vitaline (Petrin) Bernier and attended St. Ignatius School.Ernest was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. He was employed as a truck driver for the Sanford Dairy for 28 years until he had to retire due to declining health. He also owned and operated his own small farm.Ernest was predeceased by his wife, Edna G. (Gay) Bernier.Surviving are two nieces, Marion Baron, of Sanford and Sr. Maria Goretti Bernier of Lewiston; a great niece, Lisa A. Baron of Sanford; a great nephew, Michael J. Baron of Virginia, a foster son, Hector Bournival and his wife Elizabeth of Biddeford and several other nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, September 1st at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church.Arrangements are under the direction of Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home in Sanford.To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
