Elizabeth Perley

SanfordElizabeth vonLentz Rehnborg Perley, 86 years old of Sanford died Tuesday morning February 12, 2002 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mrs. Perley was born on May 9, 1915 in Derby, Ct. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Lillian Glynn Rehnborg. She attended Connecticut schools and was raised there as a child.On October 11, 1941 she married Kenneth Perley. Together they raised two children; a daughter Marcia (Perley) Hicks, and a son Kenneth who died at the young age of 30.Mr. And Mrs. Perley moved from Connecticut to Lebanon, ME 30 years ago. For many years they were caretakers for Fernald Shore in Lebanon. Mrs. Perley also worked for a number of years at the Nasson College in Springvale in the mailroom.She was a member of the Dorcas Society and was a wonderful self taught artisan working in acrylics and oils. Mrs. Perley enjoyed cooking and baking, and was said to have passed on her love of gardening and her green thumb to her daughter and granddaughters. Her daughter described her as a " strong willed and tough lady".Predeceasing her is her son Kenneth, and a son-in-law Robert Hicks.Surviving is her husband of 60 years Kenneth Perley of Sanford, a daughter Marcia Hicks of Southbury, CT; two granddaughters, Shannon Hicks of Newtown, CT, Christy Spinelli of Middlebury, CT and two great-grandchildren, Danielle Elizabeth and Cory Robert Spinelli. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.Friends are invited to attend a 7:00 PM memorial service on Friday February 15, 2002 at the Springvale First Baptist Church.
