Eleanor "Ellie" M. Sims, 84, of Springvale, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Lodges Care Center in Springvale, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 26, 1938, in Everett, MA, Ellie the daughter of Angelo Campello and Rose Vigorito. She spent her formative years in Everett, attending local schools. Ellie was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver, raising five children with love and devotion. Despite facing the challenges of being widowed at a young age, Ellie approached life with resilience and strength that inspired all who knew her. Ellie found joy in spending her winters in Largo, Florida, where she enjoyed several wonderful years. Her sassy, sweet nature was complemented by a quick wit that endeared her to many. Ellie loved to dance, and she had a vibrant spirit. Throughout her life, Ellie found happiness in being with her family and spending time in New Hampshire, Maine, and her beloved Florida. Family was at the center of her world, and she cherished moments spent with her grandchildren, often gathering for cookouts and enjoying the warmth of being at home. She is predeceased by her husband Robert J. Sims, three daughters, Donna Smiarowski, Deborah Sims and Pamela Sims, a grandson Edward Sims and her son in law William Renneissen. Survivors include a son Howard Sims of Lynn, MA, daughter Alice Renneisen of Springvale, grandchildren Davina, Michael Jr., Kyle, Justin, Derek and Joshua, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate Ellie's life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Friends and family are invited to join together to honor the memory of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, laughter, and enduring love.

  1. Auntie Alice, Uncle Howie, Michael, Davina and Kyle…I am so so sorry to hear of Nana’s passing. I’ve always enjoyed being in her company at family gatherings and cookouts. She was a little firecracker and we always had so many laughs. She will always be my friend Nana banana and I will always be her friend Barchie.
