Elaine M. Schultz, 60, of Sanford, died at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford on April 1, 2011 after a long illness. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. Elaine was born in Sanford on December 22, 1950 to Gerard and Gabrielle (LeBlanc) Legere and graduated from Sanford High School in 1969. She attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and earned her LPN certification. She truly enjoyed taking care of people and worked as a nurse for many years at Goodall Hospital. She was also employed as a home health care worker and at Greenwood Center in Sanford. Elaine loved to go antiquing and collected Czech perfume bottles, Snowbabies and hat pins. In 2000, she took the trip of her lifetime when she traveled to Europe with close friends. Elaine was dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed. Over the past several months, Elaine lived at Mountain View nursing home and truly loved the staff and fellow residents. Elaine was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Donald and Roger Legere. Surviving are two children, Peggy Robinson and her husband Steve and grandson James of Georgia and Derek Schultz and his wife Trisha and granddaughters Vicktoria and Alexia of Limerick; five sisters, Linda Baker and her husband Gary of Sanford, Denise Deering and her husband Roger of East Waterboro, Sandra Payeur and her husband Michael of Sanford, Renee Roy and her husband Bruce of Florida and Laura Mayo and her husband Rob of Maryland; three brothers, Richard Legere and his wife Reina of Texas, Mark Legere of Florida and James Legere and his partner Janet Perry of New Hampshire and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 7th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford.
