Elaine M. Arsenault

elaine arsenault
Elaine Marguerite Arsenault ,94, of Springvale Maine went home to be with her beloved husband Richard W. Arsenault on December 25, 2021. Born August 6, 1927 in Portland Maine to Marion Allen Conant and Ray Conant . She was predeceased by her son William Arsenault and daughter Eileen Arsenault. Survived by daughters Robin Russo and husband Paul, Maureen Arsenault, Jeanne Arsenault and son Timothy Arsenault, granddaughters Sorrel Duncan and husband Kory, Heather Reisig and husband Kevin, Leanne Arsenault, Jasmine Arsenault, Grace Arsenault, great granddaughters Ashleigh Duncan, Allie Reisig, and Great Grandsons Christopher Duncan, Joshua Duncan, Tyler Reisig. Elaine graduated from Deering High School in Portland Maine. She trained for hair styling and opened a salon. The greatest passion of her youth was figure skating. She spent many hours gliding and twirling on the Deering Oaks Pond teaching herself to figure skate. She also professionally roller skated and spent many hours leisure skating while being courted. The opportunity to stay professional faded away when she fell in love, married and raised her children with her husband of 67 years. Her husband's forest service work brought them to Sanford Maine in 1952. In 1960 they purchased an amazing family home on Cheney St. in Springvale Maine. As her children grew, she worked as a bookkeeper around the area. Elaine kept amazing financial records, so her family's needs were always met. She was still at it until she passed. Elaine was God's faithful servant and active member of the First Baptist Church of Springvale. She always said when she set up her yearly accounting, "God always made it balance when she remembered to list their Church pledge first." Mom and Dad's life was their family. We were grateful we were able to keep them in their home until their passing. Due to the current concerns memorial services will be in the spring. Memorial gifts in Elaine's name may be sent to the First Baptist Church in Springvale P.O. Box 277 Springvale Maine 04083. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale. To leave a message of condolence click on Elaine's tribute page.

Guestbook

  1. Elaine and Richard were always “there” when needs of church showed themselves. They were very welcoming to my husband Lew and I when we first attended FBC in 1973 and beyond. Elaine would visit me in the church office when I had the pleasure being church secretary for Pastor Mike. She would always come into the office and the first thing I saw was her wonderful smile and sparkling eyes. She was a soft spoken reminder that Christ was always present. I saw her this past fall and that sparkle was still present. I am thankful as I know she was, that her children were taught to be wonderful care takers for both she and Richard. Their family was a blessing to them and an example to all of us. Blessings of peace and comfort at this time to the family.
