Edwin "Ted" G. Richardson, 74, of Sanford, passed away on Monday, October 12 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a long illness. Ted was born on November 7, 1945 to Kenneth and Leora (Dunbar) Richardson in LaGrange, Maine. He grew up in Lynn, MA where attended local schools and graduated from Lynn High School. He served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict. During his career, he managed apartment buildings in Connecticut for a time and also was employed by Spencer Press from where he retired.As a younger man he played guitar in a band in high school and also liked dancing. More recently, he enjoyed being home and being with family. He did go outside every day and liked to spend time in his garage. He enjoyed feeding the animals in his yard as well. He was a sweet man and had a good sense of humor. He'll be dearly missed.Ted is predeceased by his parents, a brother Timothy Richardson and a sister Peggy. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Linda Richardson of Sanford, a son Theodore Richardson and his wife Heather of South Berwick, a daughter Betina Teal and her husband Shawn of Farmington, NH, a step daughter Judy Desmond and her husband Troy of Springvale, six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two sisters, Donna Brunelle of Dover, NH, and Cindy Helton and her husband Don of Rochester, NH, and several nieces and nephews. At the request of the family there will be no services.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
