Edward "Eddie" S. WhittenEdward S. Whitten, 12 years old, of Limerick, ME died suddenly Saturday March 20, 2004 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford, ME.Eddie was born on August 30, 1991 in Portland, ME. He is the son of Leonard E. Whitten and Rhonda J. Provencher.Eddie attended seventh grade at Massabesic Junior High, and was a motorsports enthusiast. He loved to be outside riding his snowmobile, or tinkering on his four-wheeler. He didn't mind getting dirty while outside playing like a typical 12-year old boy would. He enjoyed driving tractor, riding his bike, playing football, and rollerblading. Like all kids his age he enjoyed playing video games, and hated school. Eddie also enjoyed spending time with his family, and going fishing with his dad. He loved to make people laugh, and would brighten up a room just by entering.Surviving are his parents Rhonda J. Provencher and Craig of Limerick, Leonard Whitten and Roxanne of Limerick, two sisters, Ashley Whitten, and Arielle Solomon, and her father Robert Solomon, grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Provencher of Limerick, Kenneth and Wilma Whitten of Limington, an uncle Shawn Provencher, an aunt Robyn Provencher, an aunt and uncle Amy and Bill Foster, and an aunt Tina Grant. A period of visitation for Eddie will be held on Wednesday March 24th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME; where a funeral service will be held on Thursday the 25th at 11:00 am. The Rev. Robert Irish officiating.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family toward a Limerick paramedics fund.
