Edith M. Pierce

Sanford, MEEdith M. Pierce, 93, of Sanford, ME died late Wednesday evening December 12, 2001 at the Sanford Healthcare Facility.Mrs. Pierce was born on May 9, 1908 in Portland, ME. She was the daughter of Millard J. and May B. Bryer Lord.Mrs. Pierce attended schools in Saugus, MA and spent most of her life in that area. For many years she worked at Insulfab Plastics, and the Lynn Item as a switchboard operator. She also spent some time working at the South Portland Naval Shipyard, and Checker Cab.She was a member of the N. Waterboro Fire Department Auxiliary, the N. Waterboro Community Baptist Church, and the N. Waterboro Historical Society. She enjoyed doing craftwork, sewing, knitting, and tending to her garden.She is predeceased by her first husband Stanley J. Konczal Sr. their son Stanley J. Jr., her second husband Starret Pierce and two brothers, Millard and Robert Lord.Survivors include her daughter Elizabeth Buchanan of N. Waterboro, ME, a granddaughter Mary Ellen Buchanan of Stoneham, MA; two grandsons, John Buchanan of Saugus, MA, and Edwin Buchanan of Everett, MA. Also surviving is a brother Willis Lord of N. Waterboro, ME; two sisters, Marion Neilson of Georgetown, MA and Marjorie Blair of N.H.
