E. Carolyn Libby

Emily Carolyn Libby, 85, of Newfield, ME died Wednesday May 22, 2002 at the Southridge Living Center in Biddeford.Mrs. Libby was born on October 22, 1916 in Portland, ME, the daughter of Edward and Maude Hawkes.For many years Mrs. Libby worked on the family farm raising chickens, and selling eggs. Her life was dedicated to providing a good home and family life for her husband and children. She was a very hard worker and at one point in time she operated Carolyn's Variety store and restaurant.Surviving is her husband Gordon Libby, a daughter Joyce (Don) Frechette of N. Berwick, two sons, Rodney (Samantha) Libby of Texas, Russell (Lucile) Libby of Newfield, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother Melvin Hawkes, a sister Olive Hall, and several nieces and nephews.Friends are invited to attend a 5:00 PM graveside service on Tuesday May 28, 2002 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Newfield.
