Doris M. O'Brien

South Portland-Doris M. OBrien, 95, of South Portland passed away on May 14, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born on November 20, 1920 in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Carroll and Marion (Slater) Burns, Sr. A graduate of Cony High School, Doris moved to South Portland in 1943. A hard-working woman always quick with a smile, Doris focus in life was taking care of her large family and providing a loving home. Doris is survived by her daughters: Sandra Blaszak of East Aurora, New York; Sharon OBrien of South Portland and Kathy McLeod and her husband Richard of Raymond; her sons Michael of Westbrook, Anson and his wife Brenda of Cumberland; Gary and his wife Claudette of South Portland, and Ronald of South Portland. Doris seven children blessed her with 15 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her very dear friend of more than 50 years, Mary Darling. Doris was predeceased by a son, Bruce; her husband, William; her brother-in-law, Raymond OBrien; a grandson; and her siblings Carroll Burns Jr., Marion McLaughlin and Eliza Lajoie.
