Doris Evelyn Nason

Doris E. Nason, 95, formerly of Witham Street, died late Thursday November 18, 2004 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Sanford May 8, 1909, a daughter of Robert W. and Grace (Blanchard) Bride and had lived here all her life.She attended local schools and for many years worked as a repairer at the former Allied Shoe Shop in Springvale. When the mill closed she worked in the girls dormitory at the former Nasson College.She was known as "Gram" by everyone. She loved company and was a real people person with many friends through out the community. She was a long time member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church. At her request, Doris will be laid to rest in the dress she wore at her wedding in 1924.She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Ernest Nason, in 1991; a son Conrad Nason in 2002; two grandsons, Gregory Bougie in 2002 and Kenneth Nason in 2003; 3 brothers and a sister.She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Laurent (Gloria) Bougie of Springvale; three grandsons, Ernest Nason of Springvale, Ronald Bougie of Auburn, ME and Carl Bougie of Springvale; a granddaughter, Mary Libbey of Waterboro; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends may call at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Sunday November 21, 2004 at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday November 22, 2004 in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale. The Rev. Dennis Reeves, pastor of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church, will officiate.
