Doris was born to the late Lester and Hester Chamberlain in Cambridge, Massachusetts on June 15, 1921. Her family moved to South Portland, Maine when she was a young child and she graduated from South Portland High School. After retirement they lived in South Portland, Scarborough, and Dunedin, Florida. Doris was involved in many civic organizations; she was President of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the DAR, Lions, and Club 42 in Bath. Doris enjoyed playing golf, volunteering at local hospitals, crafts, traveling, and the Red Sox, but most importantly she was exceptionally kind and generous to her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt to all. She would do anything to help her family. She especially loved baking her special cookies for all her beloved nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her siblings Sonny, Winnie, Ruth, and her darling granddaughter, Kristen. Doris leaves a son, Joseph, his wife Elise, daughter Joan, and her husband Whitaker Franzheim.
