Doris U. Gerrish

SanfordDoris U. Gerrish, 64, of Sanford died Tuesday afternoon September 25, 2001 at the York hospital in York, ME.Mrs. Gerrish was born on September 2, 1937 in Sanford, ME. She was the daughter of LeForest and Geneva Grover Uhlman. Mrs. Gerrish attended Sanford Schools and graduated from Sanford High School.For many years Mrs. Gerrish worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for several area nursing homes. Some of them included the Olson-Kimberly Nursing home of Portland, the Greenwood Center in Sanford as well as Parkview in Springvale.She was a member of the AMVETS Women's Auxiliary of Sanford, and the Bible Speaks Church of S. Berwick. In her spare time Mrs. Gerrish enjoyed bowling and knitting.Predeceasing her is a daughter Linda Grover.Surviving is her husband Robert Gerrish of Sanford; a son Ronald Butler of Waterboro; a daughter Bonnie Phaup pf Auburn, NH; two sisters, Arlene Vachon of Sanford, Donna Butler of Lebanon, six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.A period of visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday September 27, 2001 at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale; where a 1:00 PM funeral service will be held on Friday September 28, 2001.
