Doreene Roy

Doreene R. Roy, 77, of Sanford, passed away on Friday February 3, 2006 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ossining, NY on August 8, 1928 a daughter of Doc Doherty and Violet (Platt) Doherty. In 1947 she married Armand J. Roy in Tarrytown, New York. In 1975 they moved their family to Maine. Mrs. Roy enjoyed playing bingo and cards. The greatest joy in her life was the time spent with her family.She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Armand J. Roy, Sr., of Sanford, her children, Dorothy Hestermann of Sanford, Eugene Roy of Sanford, Armand J. Roy, Jr., of Key West, FL., Ruth Ann Desjardins of Sanford, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one brother, Guy Calhoun of New York.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11AM at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford.Condolences may be expressed at the condolences tab at left.
