Donna Jean Bertrand

Donna J. Bertrand, 56, of 102 River Street, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at home following a long illness. She was born March 9, 1948 in Saco, a daughter of Bernard and Annie Tirrell Woodward, and had lived here most of her life.Donna attended local schools and at an early age went to work at the former Eastern Plastics where she was an inspector for 15 years. She then worked at Sprague Electric for a short time before going to Spencer Press for 13 years. Most recently she worked at William Arthur in Kennebunk and retired from Sprague Electric in 2001 due to ill health.She enjoyed playing BINGO and often went to Rochester, NH to play. Donna also enjoyed going to Foxwood's occasionally. She was a Dale, Jr. NASCAR fan and enjoyed word search puzzles. Her favorite TV shows included poker tournaments, QVC, Emeril and other cooking shows. She was a happy person and was always laughing. She enjoyed video games with her grandson and loved visits with both her grandchildren.Besides her parents of Sanford, she is survived by a daughter, Monica Bertrand of Sanford; a son, Eric & Laurette Bertrand and their children, Tyler and Kelsey of Sanford; three step-daughters, Gail Roussin of North Berwick, Theresa Shufelt of Sanford and Norma Gerrish of Springvale; a step-son, Joseph Dumont of W. Newfield; a brother, Everett & Monica Woodward of Sanford; two sisters, Diane & Vincent Bass of Alfred and Particia & Henry Hallock of Riverhead, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her long-time companion, Lionel Dumont, of Sanford.Visiting hours for Donna will be for family only. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2004 at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Rev. Sue Kingman, will officiate.
