SCARBOROUGH - Donald Richard Reny, Sr., 74, of Scarborough, died February 29, 2012 at Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born November 5, 1937 in Westbrook, a son of Richard E. and Rose Alma (Tellier) Reny. He was educated locally. Following high school, Donald entered the US Air Force and served in Germany Returning from Germany, Donald began his career working as a paper machine operator for S. D. Warren Co.; working for over 25 years retiring in the early 1990's. He married Doreen Mary Richard in 1961 and began raising his family. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. Donald was a member of the Moose Lodge #1310 and the Am Vets Post, Post 25. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Doreen in 2009; two brothers, Robert Bolduc and Marley Reny. Surviving are: three daughters, Joanne Howland and her husband Dana of Saco, Kelli Blake and her companion David Pettis of Saco, Michelle Tanguay of Scarborough; two sons, Donald R. Reny, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Saco, William A. Reny and his wife Terri of Freeport; two sisters, Shirley Phinney of Standish, Nancy Greer and her husband "Curley" of Florida; three brothers, John Reny and his wife Ann of Florida, Arthur Reny and his wife Gerri of Florida, Steve Reny and his wife Sandra of Portland; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6th at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 7th at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald's memory may be made to: St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 307 Congress Street, Portland, Maine 04101.Online condolences may be expressed below.

  3. We love Don Doreen!!! you’ll never me two better people traveling through this world. Don, Dickie Richard Larry Hanlon when on a fishing trip one time in the Moose Head region. We went out in the evening from camp to go fish one more pond see some Moose. When we came back down the road around 9 PM at night the Great Northern Paper company had closed the gate and we were locked in the woods for the night. Larry was so mad he was screaming at Don Dickie to crash thru the gate. They just kept laughing at Larry who was madder than a wet hen. Anyway finally after waiting until 5 AM the Gate keeper unlocked the gate. After Spending the night in the Maine woods getting attacked by Mosquito’s Larry had a few choice words for the gate keeper.   6. It is hard to speak of Donald and not think of Doreen. We had so many great memories of them both. Working at mother Warren the midnight shift and celebrating at breakfast on Thanksgiving for one and Harmony Hall were some of our favorites. We thank you so much for your friendship and laughter.
