Donald Maurice Masse

Donald M. Masse' 63, of Sanford died Monday, September 8, 2003 at Goodall Hospital following many years of declining health.He was born November 25, 1939 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island the son of Theobald and Marie (St. Onge) Masse'. Donald was raised in Woonsocket and graduated from St. Charles Academy, in Smithfield, RI. He attended the University of Rhode Island for 2 years, majoring in Business Management. He began his working career with Woolworth's Department Store in Winosockett, RI. From there he became the manager of the Giants Store.In 1970, he and his family made their home in Sanford. He was in management with the Ames Store for over 20 years. Mr. Masse' enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing with his son as well as making some homemade beer. He enjoyed communicating with his children through the use of the computer. A friendly and personable man, his former employees enjoyed working with him. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marion (Adams) Masse' of Sanford; two sons: Michael of Katy, Texas and James of Waterboro. His daughter, Laurie Woodward, of the Netherlands. Two brothers: Marc and Charles Masse' both of Rhode Island. Six grandchildren, Caitlin and Andrew Masse', Phoebe and Blake Masse' and Kyle and Caroline Woodward.
