Dolly Ann Bouley

September 21, 1960 ~ August 17, 2023
Resided in:
Sanford, Maine
Heaven gained a beautiful angel on August 17, 2023 when Dolly Ann Bouley, 62, fondly known as “Diesel Dolly”, of Sanford, Maine, peacefully departed at her residence following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on September 21, 1960, in Lincoln, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Janet L. Bouley and George Bouley, Sr.
Dolly's legacy is carried forward by her loving daughter, Nikki L. Bouley; granddaughters Seanna A. Bouley-Caparotta and Jay R. Bouley-Caparotta of Sanford, Maine; and her devoted brother Mark W. Bouley and sister-in-law Bonnie Dunks-Sackett from Florida.
Dolly was an embodiment of strength, resilience, and exuberance. Her compassionate nature, combined with her innate desire to help others, made her a beacon of hope for many. With an unwavering spirit, she devoted 21 years to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, excelling as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic and dispatcher. Her academic achievements were marked when she earned an Associates in Applied Science with a major in General Technology and a minor in Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Operation in 2002, and was recognized as the Student of the Year. In addition to her job at the Shipyard, Dolly's zest for life shone brightly while working at her favorite job in the world as a bouncer at local haunts such as The Portside, Black Bear, Spanky's, and Caesar's, drawing energy from the music and company of the people around her.
Dolly’s passions extended beyond her work. Her heart found solace riding horses, going camping, listening to music, playing cards and cooking. Conversations over the CB radio back in her younger days echoed her vibrant personality. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family.
To celebrate the extraordinary journey of Dolly’s life, two celebrations have been planned. A birthday celebration in her honor will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm at 5 B Frost Street, Springvale, ME 04083. A second celebration honoring her indomitable spirit, will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at the Spednic Club, situated at 6 Third Avenue, Baileyville, ME 04694.
Dolly Ann Bouley's absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but her memories will continue to inspire and comfort all those fortunate to have crossed paths with her. She lives on, not just in tales and photographs, but in the hearts she warmed and the lives she enriched.
I could never say enough good things about Dolly in the short time I knew her except she was one of the kindest, strongest women I have had the pleasure to know in my life. If I ever needed something she would jump her truck over any hill to get it for me. Love you, sis. We will meet again one day and you can teach me the ways of a good bouncer!

Her favorite place was with her family
I’ve known Dolly since college, 1999. Then we worked together as heavy equipment mechanics at the shipyard until she transferred to dispatch. I became friends with her daughter as well and was involved in her their lives since.

Very sorry to hear of Dolly’s passing, she will always be missed. She will always be remembered and cherished by all.
On the weekends from work when she was heading to Princeton and i was headed to Pembroke we would head up right after work. Talking on the cb’s as we drove. When one guy was being an ad and passing me and then slowing down, i talked with her and when she got close, i passed the guy and then she pulled right up beside me. We kept telling each other our speed so we could stay side by side. After about ten miles, i told her to go in front of me, that guy took off so fast, we never seen him again. But all the truckers that were listening to us were keeping an eye out for him to block him in. Then we continued on our way. There are so many memories, this page isn’t big enough to list them all.
Intimidating to some, but to her close friends she would go out of her way to help and she was a true friend and a great mother and grandmother. She was a strong willed independent woman, but she told me once that she was never going to get me mad because she was afraid of me. Haha i don’t know why.
Her daughter Nikki and her two granddaughters Seanna and Jay

You were my hero. You were my everything. I learned how to be a good human because of you. You loved me unconditionally no matter what stupid shit I did. I am the luckiest kid in the world to have a mom like you. You may not be on the ground with me now but I know your watching from above and now I can’t get away with anything….😁 I love you mom and plan to make you smile from above. 🫂😘🪽
She always did what she had to do to survive and never complained once about it. She also was one of the coolest bouncers to have hit the scene.
That she was right.
