Standish - Dawnlee “Dee Dee” Dumond, 64, passed away on April 14, 2024 surrounded by family. Dee Dee was born in Portland, Maine, and grew up in Gorham. Dee Dee had a deep faith in God and her favorite place to go was White River Christian Camp Meeting. This was her special God place where she went every chance she could. Ole White River has been a refuge for the entire family for generations. Throughout her life, Dee Dee was known for her unwavering faith in God which provided her with strength and resilience through all the challenges she faced over the years. She became involved in ovarian cancer support groups and formed close bonds with others facing similar challenges. A social butterfly, Dee Dee cherished time spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come. She touched every person she encountered, no matter how short or long the time was. Dee Dee is survived by her loving husband, Burt Dumond of Standish; and her five children, Kevin Wright and wife Heather of Waterboro, David Wright and wife Lena of Waterboro, Jamie Lynn Dumond of Westbrook, Ryan Dumond of Sacramento, CA, and Brett Dumond and wife Ashley of Scarborough; her siblings, Lorrie Dobbins and husband Melvin of Standish, Mark Wormwood and wife Donna of Fort Pierce, FL, Tod Wormwood and wife Jean of Fort Pierce, FL, Paula Fox and husband Jim of Gorham, Jay Morse and wife Jodi of Otisfield, and Heath Morse; seven cherished grandchildren, Mark, Rylie, Luke, Baylee, Ruth, Isaac, and Nathan; her father David Wormwood and stepmother Monique of Standish and her mother Sandra Mason and deceased stepfather Roger of Gorham; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 1. Dee Dee is my aunt.. and I have so many great memories with her that I am so thankful for. When I was little and would visit Maine for the summer, she always made everything fun! She had the BEST dress up closet and jewelry collection and make up too. 🫶🏼

  2. Knowing your sister is like having had the opportunity to meet you and share in laughter and joy. Thank you for your gifts on earth to those you touched in heart and soul.

  3. For those in Dee Dee’s family and inner circle, I want to express my heartfelt sympathies for Dee Dee’s life passing on this earth too soon! Knowing your sister for just a short while, it is clear to me that the energy and love you have for others is contagious with those you have touched. May you be surrounded by Angels and continue to live vicariously through those you have touched on earth. Blessings to those in your family who will miss you beyond words. I admire your life and it’s goodness from a distance and pray for your memory to live through others endlessly. Beth B.

  4. DeeDee was the must faithful prayer warrior that I’ve ever had the pleasure to call me friend. I haven’t seen her for years, as I moved out of state, but from what I read from others, she was a shining light and this world will not be as bright without her. Rest well, Sweet DeeDee, until we meet again.

  8. She prayed for me, and was there thru my fear of having surgery. She was a God send. So happy to have enjoyed her guidance and encouragement. ❤ I will miss her.

  9. We met Dee Dee several times at family gatherings. She had a beautiful spirit that glowed in her eyes and smile. She was generous in her love of family, and she touched all of us with that love. 13. Miss you Dee.
Dee is My Sister. The one thing that has always stood out in my mind about is who she was in her core. She was never about things or money. Dee collected moments. Little tidbits of time with all her family and friends. She crafted Memories and stashed them away as treasure. And shared them freely with others. Each one of us that knows Dee has a place in one of those little treasures of a moment.
