Debbie A Plante, 58, of Sanford, Maine passed away peacefully at her home on July 17th, 2023. She was born on July 25th, 1964, to Archie and Stella (Roux) Plante. She graduated from Sanford High School in 1982. She spent most of her career working as a Logistics Engineer at Sappi North America in Portland Maine. Debbie loved being around her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She did everything she could to make things fun for the kids when they were around. Her son Jarrett was her absolute pride and joy. Her world revolved around him, and she was so proud of the kind and caring man that he grew up to be. He was there at her side in her final weeks to take care of her, keep her comfortable, and to share stories and love. Their bond was deep, and she will be forever loved, remembered and missed. Debbie was predeceased by her father Archie Plante in April 2021; she missed him greatly and we know that they are now reunited. Survivors include her son Jarrett Plante (Kailah Andersen), of Rochester, New York. Her mother Stella (Roux) Plante of Sanford, Maine. Her sisters Joanne (Danny) Payeur of Sanford, Maine and Laurie Plante (Roland Cote) of Wells, Maine. Her brothers Ken (Corinne) Plante of Sanford, Maine and Kevin (Jennifer) Plante of Charlotte, North Carolina. As well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24th from 4:00 to 6:30 PM with a memorial service following at 6:30 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. Guestbook

  1. Stella, my dearest cousin, I am so sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing.
My sincere condolences, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this difficult time.
    Love, Claire

  2. At Holy Family School, one day at recess, we were playing kickball. Debbie was a really good kicker. Anyway, Sister Bumperstar walked by and I whistled at her. Sister asked who whistled and Debbie looked the other way. Sister then grabbed me by the ear and told me that I needed to reflect on my actions. She had me hold onto her habit as she walked around the playground. Debbie was laughing, so to give her something really funny to laugh at, I lifted Sister’s dress (a little … no you could not see anything) and Sister Alma saw me do it thru the classroom windows and I was in the principal’s office very fast. Debbie and I laughed about that for years!

  3. I had worked with Debbie for many years at Sappi, she was incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful coworker. She talked about her family a lot. Kindest Regards.

  4. I worked with Debbie at Sappi. She was a hard working and good woman . I remember her showing much devotion and love for her son and family.
My sympathy to her loved ones
    And friends.

  5. Dear Stella and family,
Just being a week from her birthday, must have had such a profound impact on everyone. All I can say is that Angels must be listening in on your prayers for Debbie and the family. When I heard about your loss I couldn’t help but remember her drive to raise funds for others with cancer and coin her a “Champion of Hope”. So sorry for your loss but there is a new St. Debbie you can count on.
