Dawn M. Tuttle

Dawn Marjorie Muchmore Tuttle, 87, of Springvale, left this world on November 12, 2013 to reunite with the love of her life, Stanley, and embark on their next adventure. Dawn was born into this world on October 14, 1926, the second daughter of Edith Goodwin and Donald Muchmore. After losing her dad at a young age, she, her mom and sister Shirley spent many years living on the family farm in Shapleigh with her Grampa and Gramma Goodwin. Her mother eventually married Armand Poisson and they moved to Sanford where Dawn met and married Stanley Tuttle and she began her life with the Tuttle family. Dawn worked for many years in the Sanford mills and retired from the Aletta Dress Shop. In her retirement years she and Stanley helped create the Sanford Free Meals Kitchen where she volunteered for many years. She was presented with the York County Shelter Program, Bread Board Award in October of 2000 and was nominated several times for the 6 Who Care Award which is presented each year by News Center on WCSH6. Dawn loved working at the polls on election days in Shapleigh. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing yahtzee with the family, doing puzzles and playing bingo with her friends at Village View apartments. She and her sister, Shirley Neill, were the best of friends all of their lives. They spent every Saturday for 65 years together shopping and sharing stories of their week. Dawn will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Dawn was predeceased by her husband Stanley, her sister, Frances Chabot and son in law Ronald, three grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan and Jonas. Surviving are her four children, Stanley "Skip", Jr. and his wife Cindy, Wesley, Debra Pepin and Cheryl Clift and her husband Marc; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Lamb, Tracy Hersey, Aaron Pepin, Jeffery Pepin, Sarah Tuttle, Elijah Tuttle, and Derek Clift, ten great-grandchildren, her sister, Shirley Neill, many nieces and nephews and many members of the large and beautiful Tuttle Family. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 16th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford.
