David A. Vinton

David A. Vinton, 60, of Sanford, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday August 8, 2006, following a brief illness at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.He was born in Meredith, NH, on January 1, 1946, a son of the late Leon and Sarah (Noyce) Vinton. He attended Sanford High School. For over 25 years he had been employed by the York County Shelter in various capacities. He enjoyed nature as well as his cat, 'Scooter.He is predeceased by two brothers, Robert Vinton and Richard Vinton. He is survived by his wife, Joan Cobb Vinton of Sanford, one daughter, Debbie Malcolm of Waterboro and one granddaughter, Katelyn Malcolm of Waterboro, two sisters, Leona Herbert of New Hampshire and Betty Welch of Kennebunk.Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Friday August 11 from 2pm until 4pm at which time a celebration of his life will take place at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street in Springvale.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in David's memory to the Animal Welfare Society, Inc., PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, Maine 04094.Condolences may be expressed by using the "condolence" tab at the left.
