David W. Cote

David W. Cote, 59, of Sanford, died at his home on February 2, 2013 after a period of declining health.David was born in Sanford on May 11, 1953 to Wilbur and Madeline (Fontaine) Cote where he grew up and attended local schools. In 1969 he married Gloria Wilmot and together they raised two children.David was employed for 17 years as a supervisor at the Burger King Northbound Plaza on the Maine Turnpike. He was a music lover and enjoyed playing his guitar and going to concerts. He also enjoyed movies, cooking and watching cooking shows on television. David was a quiet man who liked spending time at home with his family and going on day trips in the car with his wife. He was a sweet man with a heart of gold. He will be remembered as loving and devoted husband, father, son, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed.David was predeceased by his father, Wilbur David Cote.Surviving are his wife, Gloria Cote of Sanford; two children, Carolyn Cote of Sanford and Jeffery David Cote and his wife Rochelle of Alabama; his mother Madeline Cote of Sanford; three grandchildren, Kathleen, Emolyn and Zaralyn; and two sisters, Adrienne Osmer of Sanford and Suzanne Goodwin and her husband Philip of Lebanon.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 7th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State Street, Augusta, Maine 04330.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
