David R. Bailey

Springvale, MaineDavid R. Bailey, 60, of Springvale, Maine, died June 12, 2002 at The Goodall Hospital, Sanford.He was born in Waltham, MA., on January 17, 1942, he was the son of Garnett and Edna (Graves) Bailey, Sr.Mr. Bailey was a United States Navy Veteran and served from 1958-1962. He then moved to Southern Maine in the mid 1970's.He studied Psychology, Theology and Communications at The University of Southern Maine. He also had studies with Bangor Theology and The New York Seminary.Mr. Bailey had worked for JBJ Machine in North Berwick, and Renaissance Greeting Cards in Sanford.He was a member of The Springvale First Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the choir, a member of the Sereco Club and was a Stephen's minister there.Mr. Bailey was a people person whom everyone enjoyed spending time with. He enjoyed reading.He is survived by his wife Maureen of Springvale; a son Douglass Bailey of Hurricane West Virginia; a daughter Robin Seams of South Charleston West Virginia; brothers Garnett Bailey, Jr., of Malden, MA., and Walter Bailey of Waltham, MA; he is also survived by grandchildren Jessie, Zackary, Taylor and Jordan.Relatives and friends may call from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM on Saturday at The First Baptist Church of Springvale, 236 Main Street, where a funeral will follow at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
