Daniel B. Casey Sr., 92 years old of Acton died February 28, 2003 in Springvale, Me.Mr. Casey was born on October 14, 1910 in Ireland. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Byrne Casey. He was raised and educated in Ireland. In 1937 he married Marion Seward Casey, together they lived in Milford, Ct. and began a family of their own.Mr. Casey spent a brief period of time working for Chance Voigt of Stratford, Ct., however he spent over 25 years as a salesman for Schaeffer Brewing of Brooklyn, NY. In the summer He and his family spent time at Wilson Pond of Acton. As time passed Daniel and his wife would spend winters in St. Augustine, Fl.Mr. Casey was active in local politics. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and devoted communicant of Notre Dame R.C. Church of Springvale. While in Milford Daniel was a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church. Mr. Casey knew how to make those around him laugh and enjoy themselves. He was a great friend to many and could always put a smile on someone's face.Surviving is his wife of 66 years Marion Seward Casey of Acton and Milford, Ct; three daughters, Maureen Casey of Acton, Ellen D'Amato of Westerly, RI, Susan Watson of Portsmouth, NH; two sons, Daniel B. Casey Jr. of Springvale, Paul Casey of Louisville, Co; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Monday March 3 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale. On Tuesday friends are invited to attend an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Notre Dame R.C. Church in Springvale.
