Dane Robert Brooks, 32, of Sanford passed into his afterlife on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Portland, Maine surrounded by loved ones. Dane was born on October 7, 1989 and welcomed with love by his parents, Michelle Miller Zienkiewicz and Robert Brooks.
Dane grew up with his sister Casey in Sanford/Springvale and attended Sanford Schools. He eventually and proudly earned his diploma from Massabesic High School.
Dane lived his life one hundred percent unapolegetically him one hundred percent of the time. He loved all things outdoors, especially fishing which is where he found his Zen.
Dane loved family and friends with everything he had and always righted every wrong that happened along his way, no matter his personal cost. Dane was a beautiful artist. He made amazing drawings and other works of art and was very talented.
Dane’s laughter and smile was infectious and impossible to ignore. He was so quick-witted and left people around him uncontrollably laughing constantly. His humor was on point, so smart and truly unmatched. That part of him will no doubt live forever.
Dane is survived and will forever be missed by his mother, Michelle Miller Zienkiewicz and her husband, Ken of Sanford, his sister, and forever her brothers’ keeper, Casey Brooks of Springvale, his father Robert A. Brooks and his wife Kathy of Sanford. His person, his partner, his love and his key to happiness, Shaina Viera, and her whole family. His grandparents, his beloved Mamma and Bampa, June and Ed Miller of Springvale.
His large, mixed family with several bonus sisters and brothers, Brittany Richard, Brett Richard, Marissa Tea, Luke Zienkiewicz and Jill Zienkiewicz. His many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and his cousins who were more like siblings and especially his Audriana, who he was so proud to call his niece.
Those planning on sending an expression of sympathy are urged to do so by choosing peace and loving one another. Give of yourself in Dane’s name and make the world a better place in his memory.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, September 10th from 4 to 7PM at the Carll- Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME.

My world lost some colo. From skating and making movies all the time and running around town and making memories. One thing is for sure Dane was a walking adventure. Never ever a dull moment. I’m going to miss you so much. And I love you so much. You will always to the Tosta to my Strudel and you’ll always be uncle Dane to my little ones.
How great Dane was with my kids. I never have seen them open up to anyone like they do for him.

Strength. Even if Dane was afraid he would move forward. He would never budge nor break in anyway.
When my wife and I were fighting Dane explained to her that him and I were to get our visitations lol.

His extreme joy, his loud presence. He absolutely refused to allow his friends or anyone close to him to stay sad or down in anyway. Like I said to me he made this world much more colorful
He was the cutest Ring Bearer. And when his Gramps passed and we were having his celebration all you cousins took my grandson down to the pond catching frogs and fish. He needed a bath.
Rip beautiful soul you will b missed dearly.

I wish there were words that could truely Express the deep sadness that I feel, but there are no words. Dane’s death was a tragedy and he did not deserve to be taken away. All we can do is live our lives in honor of Dane…choose to do something every day with only kindness in your heart. Rest peacefully Dane and watch over the people that loved you most.
Thinking of you all esp Casey your love for each other was immeasurable an I’ll never forget visiting you when auds was born an Dane had just got there to meet auds he was so proud I’m so sorry we love you

We where in elementary school togeather him and I was always trying to get the other kids to laugh and just did dumb things to make the day go by , I’ll never forget that one morning he walked in the class with no eye brows ☺️ He done shaved them off I believe some one dared him , along with other things he definitely top of being the class clown that day I wasn’t about to do that to my self lol

Sending thoughts and prayers to family and friends. If my mother was still alive she would be able to tell me if we were related at all. We share the same last name and for this reason alone I couldn’t pass on sharing my condolences especially of a young man younger than my own children. #RIPDane
