Craig T. Patten

October 30, 2005
Craig T. Patten Jr., better known as "Bub" died Sunday, October 30, 2005 in Shapleigh, ME. Bub was born on May 24, 1981 in Wolfeboro, NH. He was the son of Craig T. Sr. and Cindy L. (Clough) Patten. Bub attended Massabesic schools and worked for Libby-Scott as a paver, a job he loved. Bub enjoyed the outdoors. He spent time camping with family and friends, fishing, playing golf, and when the weather turned he would head out on his snowmobile as fast as he could leaving a trail of powder in the air. As a man that lived life on the edge, Bub traveled to Tennessee to go hang gliding, would ride his cycle as fast as he could, and at the same time appreciated for the wonderful world he saw. Bub enjoyed making people happy. He often brought a smile to those around him. Although his time on earth was short, Bub made the absolute best of it. Never putting off to tomorrow the fun he could have today. There was a sensitive side to Bub. He would often bring in stray pets. He was a caring big "brother" to his cousin Johnnie, and would have given the shirt off his own back to anyone that needed it. Surviving are his parents Craig T. Sr. and Cindy Patten of W. Newfield, a sister Kristy Staples and her husband Scott of Limerick; two nieces, Samantha and Allie; his grandparents Dr. John and Avis Patten of Wolfeboro, NH, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A 6:00 PM memorial service for Bub will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in Craig's name to the ASPCA Disaster Relief Fund, PO Box 96116, Washington, DC 20090-6116 to help the animals displaced by hurricane Katrina.
