Resided in: Waterboro, Maine

Cory M. Maddox, 44, of East Waterboro, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 23, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1980, in Sanford, Maine, to Richard and Debra (Morin) Maddox. Cory grew up in Sanford and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School. For over 20 years, Cory was employed at Dayton Sand and Gravel, where he proudly followed in his father’s footsteps, holding the same position. His dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues, but it was his commitment to his family that truly defined him. In 2016, Cory married the love of his life, Yue Song. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and adventure, and his dream of having a family came true with the arrival of their two children. Cory cherished family trips to Disney World, Story Land, and arcades, always making time for fun and creating lasting memories with his loved ones. Cory had a close-knit group of lifelong friends who were by his side through many chapters of his life. Their bond was unbreakable, sharing countless memories and adventures, a testament to Cory’s loyalty and love. One friend comments, “He was known to be the definition of a “good guy”. Always there to help. He had a one of kind laugh, because he was a one of a kind person. If you never had the absolute pleasure to meet or know Cory, then sadly you have missed out on knowing what I believe was a great man, father, husband and most of all to the “guys”, a best friend.” A passionate sports fan, Cory especially loved North Carolina basketball and could often be found rooting for his favorite team. He also enjoyed playing baseball and kickball in his free time and collected baseball cards. Cory also liked to spend time hunting and fishing. Though he worked tirelessly at his job, every moment away was spent making up for lost time with his family. His dedication to Yue and their children was unwavering, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Arnold Maddox and Camille and Florence Morin. Cory will be deeply missed by his wife, Yue Song of East Waterboro, their beloved children, daughter Olivia age 5, and son Kai Maddox, age 4, his parents, Richard and Debra Maddox of Sanford, his grandmother Kay Maddox of Springvale, his brother Jeremy Maddox and his wife Kelly, of Sanford, his niece Korrine Nichols, nephews Garrett Nichols and Casey Maddox all of Sanford, his sister in law Yanjie "Birdie" Sylevstre and her husband Raymond, of Waterboro, his aunt Cindy Pike and her husband Gary of Springvale, his uncle Phillip and his wife Elaine Morin of Sanford, aunt Yvonne Normand and her husband Rodney of Lyman, uncles Greg Morin of TX, Armand Morin of Sanford and Ronald Morin of Shapleigh, many cousins including his best friend Randy Pike and numerous friends and relatives.
