Conrad E. Nason, 71, of Sanford, ME died Sunday morning May 12, 2002 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mr. Nason was born on August 16th, 2002 in Springvale, ME. He was the son of Ernest and Doris Bride Nason. He attended Sanford schools and was a graduate of the Sanford High School class of 1948.Following his education Mr. Nason enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was promoted over the years and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1969 after serving his country for 21 years. Following his military career Mr. Nason settled in Sanford and worked for several years as a shipfitter for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before retiring.Mr. Nason was a wonderful family man. He cared very deeply for his wife and children, and had a great fondness for his grandchildren. Family was of the utmost importance to him. He also enjoyed dabbling in the stock market, turning it from an interest to a full time hobby. In a room full of newspapers he would track their every move. Predeceasing him was his father Ernest in 1991.Surviving is his mother Doris of Sanford, his wife of 50 years Anne (Myrick) Nason of Sanford; two sons, Ernest Nason of Sanford, Kenneth and Nancy Nason of Springvale, a daughter, Mary and Robert Libbey of Waterboro, and three grandchildren, Vanessa, Michael, and Andrew. Also surviving is a sister Gloria Bougie of Springvale.Funeral services for Mr. Nason will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday May 15th, 2002 at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME.
