SCARBOROUGH Mrs. Colleen D.Curran, 89, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Pine Point Center, Scarborough. Born in Lewiston on July 31, 1927, Colleen was the daughter of the late William and Anne Mae (Sherry) Donovan. She graduated from Lewiston High School Class of 1945. Following high school, Colleen continued her education at Farmington State Teachers College, graduating in 1949. Colleenhada lengthycareerteaching elementary intheSouth PortlandSchool Departmentwhere she retired from in 1988. Shemarried Francis J.Curran, Jr. on June 30, 1985.Together, Frank and Colleen enjoyed their retirement by wintering in Ocala, Florida for the last 20 years. They also enjoyed golfing together, traveling to Ireland, spending time in Camden andattendingthe summer theatre. Above all else, Colleen was a kind hearted, courageous and loving woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Wardand Sheila Rogers. She is survived by her beloved husband, Francis J.Curran, Jr. of Scarborough; daughters, Mae Norton of Freeport, SusanLarrabeeand husband Edward of Gorham; step-children, Mary Huntley and husband Robert of Portland, PatriciaRaittoand husband Michael of Naples, ShaunCurranand wife Linda of Portland, JosephCurranof South Portland,and TimothyCurranof Windham. She is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild. Colleens family wishes to extend a sincere thank you toVirginia, Joe and the entire staff at Pine Point Center as well as the staff of Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care given to Colleen.
