Claudette A. Rodrigue, 65, of Sanford, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a courageous battle with cancer.Claudette was born in Sanford on June 5, 1940 to Clyde and Yvette Lafrance Mosher. She attended local schools. She worked for many years as a receptionist at Dr. Patel's office in Sanford and was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. She and her husband, Charles have spent the winter months in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for many years.Crafts were a favorite pastime of Claudette's; she especially loved crocheting and quilting with her sister Rachel. She loved to spend time on the computer. She would email pictures of her grandchildren to many of her relatives and friends and would also use the computer to create collages with the photos. In her younger days, Claudette enjoyed riding motorcycles, she also liked to spend time at her father's camp on Mousam Lake. Family was very important to Claudette; she loved spending time with her many family members and always enjoyed family functions.Mrs. Rodrigue could be described as a "social butterfly." She loved talking with people wherever she went. A simple trip to the store could turn into a two hour event, Claudette was so friendly and knew so many people that it was virtually impossible to make it through the store without running into somebody that she knew. She was a very kind and loving person and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Claudette was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and Dennis Mosher.Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Charles Rodrigue of Sanford; two sons, Charles and Joyce Rodrigue, Jr. of Shapleigh and Mark and Lisa Rodrigue of Wells; two daughters, Cathy and Frank Lurvey of Salem, MA and Karen and Thomas Payeur of Sanford; two sisters, Arlene Vallencourt of Jacksonville, FL and Rachel and Royal Marceau of Sanford; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A period of visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford, a funeral mass will be celebrated the following day at 10:00 AM at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford.
