Waterboro died Sunday afternoon October 7, 2001 after a five year battle with multiple myeloma cancer.Mr. Woodsome was born on August 11, 1927 in Acton, ME. He was the son of Everett and Mildred Davis Woodsome. He attended Waterboro schools and served in the United States Army.On August 17, 1946 he was married to Violet Maxfield. They had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past year.Mr. Woodsome worked his entire life in the woods, and with lumber. He often shared stories of his experiences as a woodsman and his logging with a team of horses.Mr. Woodsome was a member of the N. Waterboro Community Baptist Church, the Freedom Masonic Lodge # 42; where he was past master. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows, and past patron of the Sokokis Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star # 134.Over the past few years Mr. Woodsome worked in the office at Woodsome Lumber where he commuted to and from in his golf cart. Watching wrestling, and vacationing to Florida with his wife were some of Mr. Woodsomes favorite things to do, but above all he enjoyed his work and helping out others.Surviving is his wife of 55 years Violet M. Maxfield Woodsome of, a daughter Brenda and Myron Edgerly; two sons, Clarence "Buddy" and Nancy Woodsome, and Bruce Woodsome all of N. Waterboro. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a brother Clinton of N. Waterboro and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday October 9, 2001 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Limerick Chapel; where a 7:00 PM Masonic service will take place. On Wednesday please meet the family for a 1:00 PM funeral service at the North Waterboro Community Baptist Church. The Rev. J. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Limerick.
