Clarence Goodfield

Clarence Goodfield, 78, of West Newfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2007 at the Newton Center in Sanford. He was born in Monson, MA, on December 23, 1928, the son of Nelson and Florence (Ballou) Goodfield.He served his country proudly completing two tours of service, one in the US Army during WWII and one in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Clarence worked as a painter for many years. He raised his family in Lebanon, Maine prior to settling in West Newfield. Clarence was surrounded by his family and his loyal dog, Little Bud during his long illness. His enjoyments in life were woodworking, morning walks, hunting, and camping.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June B. Goodfield, nine children, daughter, Judy Waterhouse, daughter, Kathy Grassi and her husband Michael Grassi, daughter, Susan St. Laurent and her husband Joseph, daughter, Diane Lassor and her husband Gerald, daughter Cindy Fontneau and her husband Steve, son, Wayne Goodfield and his wife Kelly, daughter Patty Goodfield, twin sons, David and Danny Goodfield, 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.An hour of visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Clarence's memory to the Newfield Rescue PO Box 170, West Newfield, Maine 04095.
