Claire Goudreau

Claire Joan Goudreau, 71, formerly of Sanford, was surrounded by her three children when she passed away in Gilbert, AZ, on Saturday, June 4th, after a brave battle with cancer.Born in Sanford on January 30, 1940, she was the only child of Frank and Lucy (Poulin) Cookson. She graduated from St. Ignatius High School and Golden School of Beauty Culture in Portland. She was a long-time communicant of Holy Family Parish. For years, she worked at Jerry's Diner in Sanford and Leedy's Restaurant in Alfred.She enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren. She also loved Broadway plays, Scrabble, annual trips to Maine, and breakfast outings with friends.She was predeceased by her husband of 19 years, Gerard, in 1985. She is survived by her daughter Trish and her sons Trevor and Alex, of Arizona; her son Marty, of New York; and her daughter Kim and her husband Mark and their four children Maleigha, Maceo, Marius and Mateya, of Arizona. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 20th at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue in Sanford.
