Christopher P. Calise

Christopher P. Calise was born in West Warwick, Rhode Island, on September 2, 1950, to Vito and Alice Calise. He has 4 siblings: James Calise and his wife, Alice, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Raymond Calise of North Fort Meyers, Florida, Patricia Basile and her husband, Larry, of Warwick, Rhode Island, and Elizabeth “Betty” Toohey and her husband, Dave, of Warwick, Rhode Island.

In 1971, he married Barbara Burgess. They went on to have 3 children: Lesa Berard of Charleston, South Carolina, Chris Calise and his wife, Stefanie Tretola-Calise, of Harrison, Maine, and Sarah Tolman and her husband, Mike, of Rockland, Maine. He taught Industrial Arts in the Coventry, Rhode Island, school system until 1983. He then owned and operated Maine-ly Video in Harrison, Maine, for about 10 years.

In 1995, he married Marcia Cram and gladly added 2 more children: Shannon Johnson and her husband, Tim, of Westbrook, Maine, and Machelle Jordan of Cape Cod, MA. He also then worked for Woodworkers Warehouse for 10 years leaving as a District Manager.

Ready for new surroundings and warmer weather, he and Marcia moved to Arizona. He started doing home renovations and custom woodworking for many people in the community he lived in.

After 14 years, he moved back to Portland, Maine, for retirement and more family time. He has been blessed with 10 grandchildren: Christopher W. Calise and his wife, Casey, Emily Petcher and her husband, Zach, Isabelle Calise and her fiancé, Sam Preston, Maisie Berard, Marlie Berard, Gabrielle Tolman, Lyla Tolman, Wyatt Johnson, Madailein Burke, Natalie Johnson, and 2 great grandchildren: Olivia Calise and Chris Calise, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 8 at 1PM at the new Conroy-Tully Walker Cremation, Funeral, and Gathering Center, 300 Allen Avenue, Portland. A Reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, your presence on Thursday, October 8, would mean the most as we gather to remember and celebrate his life.
