SOUTH PORTLAND - Christina M. Morin, 85, of Richland Street, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough. She was born on August 28, 1927, in London, England, a daughter of John and Delia (Cowell) Fisher. She was educated in English schools and graduated from Hygate High School, London, England, class of 1945. She married Raymond B. Morin on October, 25, 1952, in Chiswick, London, England. Christina survived the London blitz of World War II before being evacuated to safety. As a young woman Christina worked as a model in London and as a waitress in the fashionable dance clubs of Chelsea where she danced with Fred Astaire . She traveled extensively with Raymond supporting his Navy career and living in London; Boston; Jacksonville, Florida; Newport, Rhode Island; and Great Lakes, Illinois. Christina was a woman of strong faith and had a beautiful voice; she sang for Bishop O'Leary at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was also a member of a charismatic Catholic musical group. She enjoyed flower gardening, time with her family, and swimming at Kettle Cove. She is predeceased by a daughter, Christina M. Morin, who died August 14, 1980; two sisters, Sheila Fisher and Kitty Hogg; and a brother, Joe Fisher. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years; a son, Stephen P. Morin of Nashua, New Hampshire; a daughter, Denise Patriquin of Scarborough; four grandchildren, John C. Patriquin Jr., Joseph R. Patriquin, Shawn S. Morin and Chantelle C. Morin; and five great-grandchildren, Noah, Riley, Jayden, Sara, and Tyler Patriquin. Visiting hours will be held 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited 10:15 am, Wednesday, at the chapel, followed by an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, corner of Cottage Road and Broadway, South Portland. Burial will take place at a future date at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.Online condolences may be expressed below.
