Charlotte A. Morin

Charlotte Ann Morin, 82, of 415 Sokokis Trail South, died Saturday morning, October 11, 2003 as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Patterson Road. She was born here on January 27, 1921, a daughter of Albert and Ethel (Whitten) Horne, and lived here all her life.At age 13, her mother died and she became responsible for raising her 4 brothers and a sister. She married Victor Morin in 1947 and soon started raising the loves of her life, sons Victor and Dennis. Her husband died in an industrial accident in 1961, and when her sons were old enough, she went to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Hillcrest Manor in Sanford. Mrs. Morin retired at age 60 after 14 years at Hillcrest.In the 60's and 70's, Charlotte enjoyed talking on her CB radio and was know by the handle "Red Bird". She enjoyed flowers, birds and luncheons with her local senior citizens group. She also enjoyed and collected lighthouses. Charlotte loved to travel and often drove herself to visit her son in Abbott, Maine and just this spring, she flew to visit her brother in California. She also traveled to visit brothers in Oregon and Texas.Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Frank Horne.Survivors include two sons, Victor W. Morin and his fiance Cheryl of Abbott and Dennis L. Morin and his fiance, Roxane of W. Newfield; 3 brothers, Edward Horne of Dallas, TX, Russell Horne of CA, David Horne of Portland, OR; a sister, Grace Libby of Limington; 3 grandchildren, Adam Morin of Lebanon, Sara Freligh of Shapleigh and Paul Morin of Abbott; and a great-granddaughter, Sadie Morin.A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2003 in Highland Cemetery Annex, Limerick. The Rev. Jack Daniels, pastor of the 1st Baptist Church of Limerick, will officiate.For those who desire, memorial contributions in Mrs. Morin's name may be made to Limerick Rescue, P. O.
