Charles P. Kosta

Charles P. Kosta, 84, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday August 10, 2006 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital. He was born in Lonsdale, RI, on August 22, 1921, a son of the late Peter and Hariclia (Regios) Kosta.Mr. Kosta served in the US Army during WWII in the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign. On January 17, 1942 he married the former Lucille Cote at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford. He was a 4th Degree member of the Rev. W. Robert Batchelder General Assembly # 0357 Knights of Columbus.For many years he worked in various food and restaurant establishments in Sanford. At the time of his retirement he was working at the Sanford House of Pizza. His passion for food and cooking extended beyond his work, into the family and with friends. He will always be remembered for the many family gatherings and meals prepared under his supervision.He is predeceased by two sisters, Helen Victor and Rita Warnell, two brothers, George Kosta and Harry Kosta.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille A. Kosta of Sanford, two daughters, Nancy Lessard of North Berwick and Joanne Rankin and her husband, George of Shapleigh, one sister, Mrs. David (Anna) Verrill of Yarmouth, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 16 at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford.
