Celia W. Roussin, 95, formerly of Sanford, died March 15 at Hospice at Martin and St. Lucie in Stuart, FL.She was born in Whitchurch, Wales on June 25, 1909, a daughter of Lewis and Sarah Ann (Buckler) Webber.She was educated in Wales and in West Virginia. She came to this country in 1924, and had been a resident of the Sanford area since 1926.She was employed at the Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills until they closed in 1954. She later worked for the William Marland family for 7 years as a cook. When Hillcrest Manor first opened, she worked there as a cook, retiring in 1971.She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Sanford and York County, past president of the Franco-American Auxiliary in Meriden, CT while a resident there. She was also a past president of the Sunset Towers Association.Her husband, Laurent Roussin, Sr., died in 1975.Survivors include 2 daughters, Thelma Fortier and her husband Gerard of Laconia, NH, Patricia Flory and her husband Paul of Ft. Pierce, FL, 3 sons, Laurent Roussin, Jr. of Ft. Pierce, FL, Lewis Roussin of Woodbine, GA, Harry Roussin of Aiken, SC, 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford, where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10 AM, with the Rev. Les Pettit, pastor of the Crossroads United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.
