Catherine S. Shapleigh

Catherine S. Shapleigh, 80 of Alfred, ME died Friday morning February 7, 2003 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. Shapleigh was born on June 25, 1922 in Wayne, PA. She was the daughter of john and Stella Heister Snyder. She attended schools in Pennsylvania and later resided in Haddonfield, NJ until moving to Maine in 1987.Catherine was a loving mother and wife of 59 years who inspired many people along her life's journey. She was a former member of the Haddon Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary, the West Jersey Hospital Systems Auxiliary, and the Haddonfield Red Cross Blood Bank where she volunteered her time for over 25 years and served as chairman for 5 years.Predeceasing her is her son Marc Shapleigh who passed away on May 18, 2000.Surviving is her loving husband of 59 years Robert M. Shapleigh Sr. of Alfred, ME, a son Robert M. Shapleigh Jr. of Cherry Hill, NJ, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.At Catherine's request services will be private.
