Caroline Roberts

Sanford, MaineCaroline "Winnie" Roberts, 88, formerly of 24 Roberts St., Sanford, died Monday February 10, 2003 at The Goodall Hospital.She was born in Reading, MA., on June 29, 1914, the daughter of Ralph and Sisley (Martin) Arseneault, and was the first family member to be born in The United States.Mrs. Roberts moved to the Rumford-Mexico area when she was a child, spending her youth there until her marriage. She moved back to Massachusetts, then New Jersey, then California and back to her family in Maine. She enjoyed spending the winters in ZephyrHills, Florida where she spent 15 years.She loved to attend flea markets, enjoyed to crochet, loved shopping and was a collector.Mrs. Roberts loved traveling, especially to Prince Edward Island.She was a member of The Curtis Lake Christian Church, Sanford.She is survived by her sons Joseph E. Paulin, JR., of Mexico, Maine and James A. Roberts, JR., of Fruitland Park, FL; a daughter Sisley Dougherty of Shapleigh, Maine; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband James A. "Bud" Roberts who died in 1993.Relatives and friends may call from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday February 12, 2003 at Heald Funeral Home 580 Main Street, Springvale, where a funeral will follow at 1:00 PM on Wednesday.
