Carolee W. Varney

Carolee W. Varney, 56 years old, of Sanford, ME died suddenly at Goodall Hospital on the evening of May 26, 2004.Mrs. Varney was born on March 6, 1948 in Sanford, ME. She was the daughter of Claude Elwell, and Irene Furbish Beals. She attended local schools, and worked for over 22 years at the Lebanon Maine Post Office.Mrs. Varney was a very outgoing woman that always had a smile on and was full of life. She enjoyed lighthouses, carousels, and gardening. She was a good friend to many, and was always there when she was needed.Predeceasing her is her father Claude Elwell.Surviving is her mother Irene Beals of Sanford, her husband of 10 years Alton Varney of Sanford, two sons, Bryan Lombard of Sanford, Keyth Lombard of Silver Springs, MD, and a sister Claudette Horr of Sanford.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday June 1, 2004 from 5 to 7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME. On Wednesday friends and family are invited to attend a 1:00 PM graveside service at the Forest Grove Cemetery in N. Lebanon, ME.
