Carol Lee Cote

Carol Lee Cote, 75, of Sanford, passed away after a long illness on Monday, December 13, 2021.
She was born in Sanford, Maine on June 29, 1946, a daughter of the late Edward Deschenes, and Alva (Godin) Deschenes. She attended both Sanford and St. Ignatius High Schools and graduated from Sanford High in 1964.
Carol was employed for 25 years and retired in December 2002 as Administrative Clerk of Courts of Alfred Superior Court, in Alfred, Maine.
She loved to dance, and her extended dance family was always near and dear to her heart! Early in life you could find her dancing the jitterbug and disco styles. Later she mastered country line dancing, two step, and west coast swing. She had a deep faith in God and was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was most proud of her three daughters and took joy in her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Carol is predeceased by her father and her brother David Deschenes.
She is survived by her mother, her sister, Geraldine Alexander and her husband Sherman of Sanford and Lake Havasu City, Arizona, her brother, Dennis Deschenes and his wife Marge. Her three daughters, Nicholette Hamel Destefano and her husband Jack of Spring Hill, FL, Kathleen Giguere and her husband Daniel of Sanford, Maine, and Master Sergeant (Ret.) Jill Zimmerman and her husband Scott of Ficksburg, MD. Her grandchildren, Matthew and Andrea Vennard, Beth and Alex Giguere, Carlee Habicht, and Greg Nelson. Her two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Alora Habicht as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 16, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave., Sanford with at burial immediately following at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

Wonderful memories of working with CarolLee for 20 years. She was gentle and kind. We had many fun years of line dancing together. I will treasure all my memories of her.
