CARLE B. DIONSanfordCarle B. Dion, 66, of Sanford, died unexpectedly on March 30 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford.He was born in Biddeford on June 25, 1938, a son of Arthur and Simone (Perreault) Dion, and attended Old Orchard Beach schools.He served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1966.He was employed for many years as a pressman at the William Arthur Company in Kennebunk, and then for a couple of years at the Biddeford Textile Company, retiring in 2001.He attended the Curtis Lake Christian Church in Sanford.His family recalled what a wonderful family man he was who especially enjoyed his grandchildren, and that he enjoyed his hobby of flying radio controlled model airplanes.Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Eva F. (Sauceda) Dion of Sanford, 2 sons, Carle Markle of Virginia, Aaron Dion of Standish, 3 daughters, Janine Saggau, Felicia Cripps and Debbie Markle, all of Virginia, 2 stepsons, Bob Herman, Jr. of Acton, Andrew Herman of Spain, a brother, Raymond Dion of Biddeford, 2 sisters, Lynn Hopkins of Old Orchard Beach, Patricia Courtwright of Connecticut and 7 grandchildren.A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, where the family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 until the time of the service. The Rev. Jim McAtee will officiate. Burial will be later in the spring in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.
